MHS shoot for the stars

Middelburg Hoërskool’s shooting team were locked and loaded at the Mpumalanga finals.

The event was held in White River from August 18–19, with 17 Middies sharpshooters invited to compete.

Simiaan van der Walt and Marco de Wet fired their way to silver medals, while Drikus de Wet blasted a path to bronze.

The u/21 pistol team achieved an excellent third place overall, with 15 green and gold gunslingers chosen to represent Mpumalanga at the South African Championships.

Those chosen to represent Mpumalanga are as follows, alongside their placement in the tournament:

Juniors: Dean Kruger (5th), Drikus de Wet (bronze medal) and Simiaan van der Walt (silver medal).

Seniors: Marco de Wet (silver medal), Jaco Potgieter (8th), Petra du Toit (6th), Sharijah Goodchild (9th), Annabelle Davel (5th), Larizaan Bouwer, Ewan Koster, Brandt Janse van Rensburg (4th), Elmari Grobler, Brigitte Lombard, Ariana Dinu and Lirené Rossouw.
