Middelburg churchgoer still missing in the ocean

It has been nearly two weeks since a 21-year-old Middelburger went missing in the waters of Camps Bay.

The spokesperson of the National Sea Rescue Institute, Craig Lambinon, told the Middelburg Observer that the sea rescuers are still searching for the man.
He added that the search is still ongoing.

The man is believed to be a Zimbabwean national. He was travelling with church members when they decided to visit the beach at Camps Bay.

The day after he went missing, NSRI Bakoven launched the rescue craft Gemini Legend. Cape Town Helicopters also dispatched four helicopters to help in conducting five sweeping aerial sea searches. Five NSRI rescue swimmers were also deployed into the surf to perform free-dive searches.
