Spike strip incidents on the N12

A WhatsApp message is circulating, alerting motorists about three recent spike strip incidents on the N12.

The message urges motorists to be extra vigilant when driving on the road.

The culprits responsible for placing the spikes are known to operate at night.
They strategically place the spikes to immobilise vehicles before robbing the occupants of their personal belongings.

On Thursday, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala of the Mpumalanga Police said the police have not received any complaints thus far, “We can’t rule the incidents out, however, we haven’t received any reports, unless the victims haven’t reported the matter to the police.”
