Level 2 warning for thunderstorms issued for greater Highveld area

A level 2 warning for thunderstorms in the Highveld area today has been issued by the South African Weather Service.

According to the report, heavy downpours and strong winds are expected over the Highveld area of Mpumalanga as well as Gauteng and the south-western parts of Limpopo from late this afternoon into the evening.

20 to 45 mm of rainfall are likely which may lead to localised flooding in low-lying areas.
