Three millionaires in three months for Goldrush!
Potchefstroom chef Diana Knell is Goldrush Million’s third millionaire in three months.
The 60-year-old was crowned a millionaire on Sunday to great fanfare and jubilation at the Potchefstroom branch.
Diana said when she got home, she told her son that she had a surprise in store, “He asked me how much I won, R4 000, maybe R5 000?” She just smiled at him.
“I kept telling him higher and higher and delayed it until I could not hold it in anymore and I blurted out I was a millionaire.”
Diana joins Pietermaritzburg’s Nirvana Moodley (August) and Rustenburg’s Gerhardus Maree (September) as a Goldrush lucky millionaire.
She said she would be sharing some of her winnings with her children and two brothers.
“My brothers are struggling a bit and I want them to have a nice holiday so I will share some of the winnings with them. I may spoil myself with a little car too,” she said.
Goldrush CEO Megan Naidoo congratulated Ms Knell and said, “It certainly has been win, win, win for Goldrush customers. This promotion has captured the attention of the gaming community in South Africa and we are very happy to see our loyal customers winning. It has been filled with entertainment with our celebrity hosts Barry Hilton and Proverb adding to the vibe.”
Goldrush Bingo MDs Kathleho Thejane and Greg Sutherland confirmed that the promotion had given away more than R12 million since it started in August, “Apart from Diana’s win, we gave away R250 000 in consolation prizes and an additional R175 000 in a tournament earlier in the day. So, we have certainly been rewarding our valued clients.”
Goldrush Millions consolation winners were from Cresta – R25 000, Ladysmith – R50 000, Port Elizabeth – R75 000, and New branch San Ridge (Midrand) – R100 000.
