Another storm looms, severe thunder, hail to be expected: SAWS

Heavy downpours, hail, damaging winds and thunder can be expected for tomorrow across several provinces.

According to the South African Weather Service a level 2 (yellow) thunderstorm is forecast to move across the Highveld, escarpment areas of Mpumalanga, Gauteng, north-eastern parts of the Free State, the North West and western half of KZN.

Eskom has released a statement warning the affected areas that disturbances to the power system are expected but that teams are on standby to restore electricity blackouts.

Meanwhile, Middelburg residents are to report any outages to STLM by sending a WhatsApp to the call centre 064 915 3362 in the following order:

Name; address; area; telephone number; nature of the complaint in English.
