Alert issued for possible bank robberies with gang tracked to Nkangala

Don't walk around with large amounts of money!

Information was circulated today on the local Plan van Aksie WhatsApp group, that known suspects have entered Middelburg from Nelspuit yesterday already, and may be actively planning bank robberies in the Nkangala region.

The modus operandi for this specific group is that the suspects enter the bank and wait for customers to either withdraw, or deposit large amounts of money, before robbing them.

The gang is armed and wont hesitate to shoot.

They make use of a lookout while two robbers accost victims.

The suspects are known to be aggressive and will shoot without hesitation.

The gang regularly use a vehicle with a cloned registration number.

The vehicle is a a White VW Golf GTI with the known registration number JTG 992 MP

This vehicle is a cloned private vehicle that belongs to a Traffic Officer from Gauteng.

There are currently four active police investigations against the gang.

In Middelburg and Secunda victims had been wounded during previous robberies, with the Absa branch at Middelburg Mall having been targeted recently.

Banks, especially in Middelburg, eMalahleni and Secunda have already been placed on high alert.
