Middelburg schools make town proud in Bloemfontein

Hoërskool Middelburg has reached the final of the Fichardtpark Kovsies Smash 2024 cricket tournament, with HTS Middelburg reaching the third place play-offs.

The tournament is being held at Hoërskool Fichardtpark in Bloemfontein and began on January 8, concluding today.

Hoërskool Middelburg managed to overcome a tightly contested group consisting of Hoërskool Jim Fouché, Bethlehem Voortrekker Hoërskool, and Hoërskool Wesvalia

With Hoërskool Fichardtpark playing the tournament in their backyard, they were hoping to lift the cup in front of an adoring home crowd, but MHS had other plans, knocking the hosts out in a semi-final clash.

HTS Middelburg also progressed from the group stage, standing tall against Goudveld Hoërskool, Hoërskool Overvaal and Hoërskool Fichardtpark.
Unfortunately, HTS lost their semi-final battle to Klerksdorp’s Hoërskool Wesvalia.

However, they will be hoping to bounce back and claim third place today, as they are set to face Hoërskool Fichardtpark once again at 10:00.

In a clash of the titans final, which is bound to be a spectacle, MHS will be hoping to secure victory against Hoërskool Wesvalia and claim the cup.

The final is also set to be played at 10:00, with both HTS and MHS matches to be broadcast on https://live.supersportschools.com/.
