Driver killed in collision with tanker on R555
A brutal head-on collision tragically claimed the life of a bakkie driver on the Stoffberg road shortly after 05:00 this morning.
The driver sustained horrific injuries when he jumped from the bakkie just before impact.
The bakkie was destroyed in the collision with the tanker with which it collided.
The driver of the tanker was lucky to escape unharmed.
Traffic was held up on the busy stretch, with vehicles and trucks passing on the shoulders in both directions under strict police guidance.
The scene has since been cleared.
