Razed curtain shop in flames again

AC Moosa's has caught fire again after the shop was razed down last year.

The Middelburg Fire Brigade is at the scene to extinguish the blaze which was started at the back of the shop.

It was reliably learnt that people are possibly sleeping in the damaged store.

AC Moosa’s and Union Bazaar caught fire alongside the Eastdene Saverite in November last year, after armed robbers ambushed Mr Mahomed Cassim while he opened the Saverite early one Sunday morning.

After being threatened, assaulted, bound and gagged by the robbers, he heard an explosion before his shop went up in flames. The inferno then spread to neighbouring stores causing irreparable damage to affected structures.
