The fight against measles continues

The fight against the recent rise in measles cases continues today, with an immunisation event taking place at the Mhluzi Extension 2 parking lot.

Today’s event began at 09:00 and will continue until 15:00, with the Department of Health urging parents to come and immunise their children.

There has been an alarming increase in measles and pertussis cases, so now is the best time to get your child immunised.

The Steve Tshwete Local Municipality has now hosted several immunisation events in conjunction with the Department of Health, for children aged 0–15 years.

There are no plans to stop, as two more events will be held this Saturday.
The two events will take place from 09:00 to 15:30 at the Middelburg Mall parking area and from 08:00 to 16:00 at the Rockdale Clinic.

It is strongly advised to bring your Road to Health card. It is recommended, even if your child may not be showing symptoms, to bring them in for a check-up to rather be safe than sorry.
