A house break-in happened earlier this morning on Blackmore Street in Eastdene, where the culprits targeted the home of two pensioners.

Mrs Jainub Khan said she heard a noise around 03:00 but didn’t see anything when she went to investigate.

At 03:30, when Mr Habib Khan woke up for prayer, he discovered a broken window.

The suspects broke a precast garden wall slab to gain entry into the yard and then broke a window to get into the house.

The suspects smashed a window and stole items from the kitchen.

The suspects stole various items from the kitchen and lounge, including exercise equipment, a heater, glassware, and food.

Mrs Khan added that the police opened a case and dusted for fingerprints.
