Fatal encounter leaves man dead in N4 spiking ambush

A man was stabbed and killed last night during a deadly spiking incident on the N4.

Motorists have been warned to limit travel on the N4 to daylight hours.

The warning comes on the back of last night’s deadly attack near Donkderhoek.

The motorist was stabbed after damaging his vehicles tires while driving over the metal spikes.

He was attacked immediately after exiting his vehicle around 22:00.

He passed away on the scene.

Spiking incidents have also been reported on the R104 .

Motorists falling victim to spike-strip gangs should not stop, but rather proceed slowly to where it is safe.
