Petrol price decrease confirmed!

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy has officially confirmed the major decrease in petrol and diesel prices, set to come into effect tonight.

The price changes are sure to delight drivers across the country, with the new fees to be implemented from midnight.

These figures come as a welcome surprise, decreasing further than previous estimates had initially expected.

So if you need to fill your car, it is best advised to wait until tomorrow, if possible.

The inland totals are now:

• Petrol 93: R23.31
• Petrol 95: R24.25
• Diesel 0.05%: R20.96
• Diesel 0.005%: R21.15
• Illuminating paraffin: R15.20.

This is a major decrease over May’s prices, as illustrated below:

• Petrol 93: decrease of 124c per litre.
• Petrol 95: decrease of 124c per litre.
• Diesel 0.05%: decrease of 119c per litre.
• Diesel 0.005%: decrease of 109c per litre.
• Illuminating paraffin: decrease of 80c per litre.
