Steve Tshwete voting stations open on time despite storm

Residents are urged to exercise their democratic right as special voting concludes ahead of tomorrow’s main election.

Voting stations damaged by yesterday afternoon’s storm in Steve Tshwete have been repaired, allowing special voting to proceed without disruption.

Steve Tshwete IEC municipal electoral officer Elvis Ngcobo confirmed to the Observer that all voting stations opened on time this morning, adding that several facilities damaged by heavy rain had been repaired and were operating.

Voters urged to make voices heard

Ngcobo urged all residents in the municipality to use this opportunity and exercise their right to vote.

Ngcobo added that it is only through their vote that their lives and communities will improve.

“Today is the last day for special votes. All those who registered for special voting must go and cast their vote. Tomorrow is the official voting day and people must make their voices heard,” he said.

Special voting will continue until 17:00 today, November 3, while the main voting day is tomorrow, November 4. Voting stations will be open from 07:00 to 21:00.
