Cossa, a Mozambican citizen, was pulled over while driving a black Toyota Quantum yesterday (Wednesday).

Members of the Waterval Boven Police proceeded to search the vehicle.

During the search, police members uncovered two BMW motorcycles, one Suzuki motorcycle, one Harley Davidson motorcycle, as well as one quad bike.

All the motorcycles were already stripped, with the parts hidden on a trailer.

The parts were found covered by empty drums and empty 20-litre containers.

The motorcycle frames, and leftover parts, were also all wrapped in black plastic bags, secured with sellotape.

Cossa is set to appear before a magistrate at the Belfast Magistrates’ Court today.

He was arrested on the N4 by the Waterval Boven SAPS, who were conducting routine patrols.

His vehicle was pulled over between Waterval Boven and Ngodwana.

Warrant Officer Samuel Mashabela, Acting Station Commander of Waterval Boven SAPS, congratulated his team for the good work.

Motorcycles are high on the loot list of local vehicle smuggling gangs, with a staggering number of thefts reported locally.

Persons who might recognise the motorcycles can contact Sergeant Nxumalo to assist with the investigation on 082 749 4773.
