Patrollers recover stolen Land Cruiser in Middelburg after 200km/h chase

Suspects vanish into an informal settlement near Duvha Power Station as police seek to trace the owner of the secured vehicle.

The police, various security companies, and members of the Dagpatrollie (Day Patrol) security group in Middelburg were involved in a high-speed pursuit yesterday to recover a stolen Land Cruiser ZX300.

Dagpatrollie said that the vehicle was stolen as early as October 15.

The SAPS was approached to clarify the identity of the Land Cruiser’s owner and to provide further details regarding the crime, but no response was received.

Chase reaches 200km/h

Arthur Hill of Dagpatrollie said they also did not know who the vehicle belonged to.
During the pursuit, speeds of 200km/h were reached.

The vehicle was recovered and secured, but the suspects fled the scene and disappeared into an informal settlement near the Duvha Power Station.
