Damien does Middelburg proud, sworn in ahead of presidential election

Sticks and stones and broken bones, Damien will represent!

When there’s a thumb up from our own Damien Klopper, the future may just be a little bit rosier.

He’s faced bullets, boots and fists.

And now parliament.

Damien was sworn into his seat in SA’s seventh democratically elected parliament, and minutes ago said that the presidential election is yet to take place

Its widely expected that President Cyril Ramaphosa will once again be elected first citizen, with the help of the DA.

The sky, however, might still fall…

The selection of deputy speaker is currently underway, and the sifting process is expected to take at least another hour.

Following the announcement of the deputy speaker, South Africa’s next president will be elected.

And, Damien, like his fellow DA parliamentarians, will have his say.
