Three arrested for possession of suspected stolen soya beans

Middelburg Flying Squad members caught three suspects, aged between 20 and 33, with suspected stolen soya beans near eMalahleni on Sunday evening.

The bakkie was pulled over and searched at around 19:45.

Members of the Middelburg Flying Squad were conducting patrols along the N4 near the Middelburg Toll Plaza when they spotted a white Isuzu bakkie that appeared heavily loaded and covered with a black tarp.

The vehicle was stopped, and a search was conducted by the SAPS members.

The vehicle was loaded with 26 50kg bags of soya beans, suspected to be stolen.

The three suspects were arrested at the scene and charged with possession of suspected stolen property.
They are expected to appear in the eMalahleni Magistrate’s Court today (June 18) to face the charges.
