Middelburg boxer to fight at Emperors Palace this Saturday

Bonginkosi Nhlapo is set to fight at Emperors Palace this weekend, facing Michael Head.

Middelburg’s very own Bonginkosi Nhlapo will be back in the thick of it this Saturday, as the rising light-heavyweight star is set to return to the glamorous stage of the Emperors Palace Centre Court.

Squaring off against Michael Head, the bout will be under this weekend’s Palace Pandemonium billing. However, the fight against Head also falls under the Rising Titans Tournament, a tournament within a tournament, if you will.

The winner of this clash will face the victor of the other side of the Rising Titans bracket, Bryan Thysse and Tuvia Wewege.

That epic will take place at the East Rand Resort and Casino in May, where the winner will net a purse of R185 000, and far more importantly, the bragging rights.

The headliner for this weekend’s event is IBO World Junior Bantamweight champion Ricardo ‘Magic Man’ Malajika versus fellow Edenvale local IBO World Flyweight champion, Jackson Chauke of Tembisa.
