Man’s body found under tree, police in search of family

The Middelburg SAPS is hoping to locate the family of a man found dead under a tree in Middelburg.

The body was found on Monday (Youth Day) at 10:20 by the owner of a house on Gilfillan Street, and he contacted the police.

According to a media spokesperson for the Middelburg SAPS, Sgt. Nonhlanhla Mdluli, the deceased’s age is between 30 to 35 years.

He is tall and of thin structure.

The deceased was found wearing black tracksuit pants, a red long-sleeved jersey, a black jacket and blue takkies.

The police urge anyone with information that may assist in locating the family of the deceased to contact Detective Warrant Officer Conrad Lombard on 065 527 1709.
