Motorists are advised that smoke from a veldfire next to the N4 is affecting visibility.

According to a concerned motorist that phoned the Middelburg Observer, the smoke is very thick and visibility very poor on the stretch on N4 between the Hendrina and Bethal off-ramps.

The motorist informed that a collision involving multiple vehicles has already resulted due to poor visibility. She however, confirmed that the collisions are not serious but urged caution under other travellers.

According to the Traffic Alert WhatsApp groups, the traffic department and emergency services have been dispatched and are at the scene.
