Meyer Street partially closed

Meyer Street is partially closed, expect traffic build-up.

One lane on Meyer Street has been cordoned off at the unrepaired sinkhole, a short distance from Meyer Bridge.

According to a public notice circulated by Ena Uys, MHRF proportional councillor, another sinkhole is forming, resulting in the road closure.

Upon the Middelburg Observer’s inspection, only the lane coming into town from Stoffberg’s direction has been closed with cones.

The Middelburg Observer has been referred to SANRAL’s press office for more information and awaits feedback.

It cannot be confirmed yet whether both lanes will be closed.

Motorists are advised to expect a bottleneck in traffic, and it is suggested that alternative routes be used instead.
