Solid waste strike results in postponement of municipal auction

The municipal auction public viewing and registration has been postponed due to the solid waste strike.

According to a public notice issued by the Municipal Manager of Steve Tshwete Local Municipality, the public viewing and registration scheduled for today and tomorrow has been postponed.

An update will be given at a later stage whether the main auction set for Wednesday will continue.

The public viewing, registration, and auction was set to take place at the magasyn on the corner of Walter Sisulu- and Protea Street.

It, however, was reported earlier today that striking workers from the Department of Solid Waste locked the gates to the magasyn.
