ALERT: Cafe 101 also robbed by gang last night

Two cafes robbed, same gang suspected.

It has just been confirmed that the same brazen gang of robbers that targeted Toscana Takeaways in Mineralia shortly after 06:00 this morning were also involved in a robbery at Cafe 101 last night.

The armed gang of around five robbers rushed into Cafe 101 shortly after 18:00 last night.

They held staff at gunpoint and proceeded to rob the cafe of cash, prepaid airtime vouchers, and cigarettes.

They fled the scene in a white BMW.

The same white BMW is also said to have been involved in today’s early morning robbery.

In this morning’s incident, the robbers fled with only the cafe’s CCTV camera system.

The same happened at Cafe Toscana in August 2022, where 31-year-old Sam Nyambo was shot and killed by a gang of armed robbers while waiting in line to pay.

Nyambo was shot in the head at point-blank range when he confronted a robber over the latter’s perceived attempt to jump the queue.

Nyambo was, however, not aware that the robber was making his way to the tills to rob the cashiers.

After killing Nyambo, the robber calmly proceeded to empty the cash registers.

In the deadly 2022 robbery, the gang also disconnected the cafe’s CCTV camera system before they fled with it.

No arrests have been made in any of the three robberies.

Titon Security has warned cafe and minimart owners to be more vigilant following the latest two incidents.
