Potgieter in Nedbank Golf Challenge

Potgieter has bright future ahead.

Organisers of the 2025 Nedbank Golf Challenge, which will be held from 4 to 7 December at the Gary Player Golf Course at Sun City, can start to print extra tickets for the tournament.

South Africa’s young golf sensation, Aldrich Potgieter (20), has just confirmed that he has accepted an invitation to the tournament.

Potgieter is one of the country’s new generation of beloved sportsmen like swimmer Pieter Coertze and cage fighter Dricus du Plessis.

He stole the hearts of his countrymen with his victory in the PGA’s Rocket Classic tournament, in which he became the youngest South African to win a PGA tournament.

The way in which he passionately showed his joy, after beating Max Greyserman in a playoff, makes him a big favourite with sports fans.

There will of course be extra motivation for Potgieter and his fellow South Africans, as the last time a local player won the tournament was Branden Grace in 2017.

The tournament at Sun City is part of the DP World Series and was previously known as the million dollar tournament.Potgieter previously attended Laerskool Middelburg and the family is still well-loved in the town.
