Kranspoort partially open, traffic being regulated

One truck still needs to be recovered after yesterday’s fiery crash in Kranspoort Pass.

Kranspoort Pass is partially open to allow traffic flow between Middelburg and Groblersdal, after an accident yesterday resulted in a diesel tanker igniting and the road’s consequent closure.

The latest information shows that the two ascending lanes in Middelburg’s direction remain closed due to a truck still needing to be recovered.

Traffic from both directions is now being diverted into the descending lanes, but traffic is being regulated by authorities.

Motorists are advised to approach with caution.
