Shock as learners allegedly stab fellow pupils at school

School violence sparks safety concerns.

A shock-stricken mother contacted the Middelburg Observer following an alleged attack on Grade Nine learners, allegedly by Grade 12 learners.

The incident took place this morning at LD Moetanalo Secondary School in Tokologo.

According to the mother, her child and other learners were stabbed, and the police were called, but never went to the school.

However, Mhluzi Police Station, confirmed that police were at the scene and that the victims and the attackers were taken to the station.

The mother said nine learners were allegedly attacked.

The identity of the victims and the alleged perpetrators cannot be revealed because they are minors.

The mother confirmed that her child was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, as he was covered in blood on the back of his head and neck.
