Concerned Rockdale residents contacted the Middelburg Observer this week, asking for an update on the condition of two men who were stabbed during a violent attack on Saturday.

According to information gathered by the Observer, a baker had been delivering six loaves of bread to a tuck shop situated behind U-Save when the incident unfolded.

While the baker was inside the shop, unknown attackers targeted the delivery vehicle outside, stabbing both the driver and the crew member.

The injured men were rushed to hospital for urgent medical treatment. One of them was discharged after receiving care, but the second victim remains in a critical condition in the intensive care unit of Life Midmed Hospital.
