Multiple accidents reported in Middelburg surroundings

Two people were killed in the horrific accident involving two trucks, between Waterval Boven and Emngwenya.

There were multiple accidents reported on surrounding roads outside the Middelburg area today , on the Traffic Alert group.

A fatal crash was reported around 15:00 near the Olifants River bridge heading towards Emalahleni on the N4 coming from the Middelburg side. It was reported that people lost their lives, however, the number of fatalities is unclear at this stage.

Another accident occurred before SG Coal towers at around 16:30.

Four vehicles and a truck were involved in another accident on the R35 by Komati Power station, between Middelburg and Bethal. The accident caused road obstructions. It was reported around 17:30.

One vehicle also reportedly overturned not far from Woestalleen Substation at around 18:10.

People travelling on the N4 towards Nelspruit are urged to use Schoemanskloof Road because of a serious accident between Emgwenya ( Waterval Boven) and the tunnel. Two people, a male driver from one of the trucks and a female passenger, were killed in the collision between two trucks.

Motorists travelling from Middelburg to Emalahleni are warned to avoid using the N4 after three accidents were reported not far from each other.

Road users are urged to exercise caution when driving, especially on slippery roads.
