WATCH: Driver of Mahindra seriously injured in Kanonkop crash after swerving for pedestrian

A man was seriously injured when his Mahindra hit a tree and rolled in Asalia Street, Kanonkop, next to the Klein Olifants River.

A serious single-vehicle accident in Asalia Street, Kanonkop, next to the Klein Olifants River, left a man seriously injured at about 17:10 yesterday.

The driver, travelling from the Protea Street side, told first responders on the scene that he had just passed the curve when a pedestrian, reportedly a picnic goer, walked across the street in front of him. He swerved to avoid the person, but his Mahindra struck a tree and rolled over, throwing him from the vehicle.

The man was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
