UPDATE: Grade 11 learner fatally stabbed at LD Moetanalo

A learner died after being stabbed during an incident involving two learners at LD Moetanalo High School in Mhluzi.

Colonel Jabu Ndubane, provincial spokesperson for the Mpumalanga SAPS, has confirmed a stabbing that occurred today at LD Moetanalo High School in Mhluzi, involving two learners.

According to Ndubane, a Grade 11 learner was fatally stabbed by a Grade 10 learner and died at the scene. The circumstances leading to the incident are not yet clear, and the police remain on the scene conducting investigations.

The Middelburg Observer spoke to school principal P.T. Mokone, who confirmed the incident but said he was unable to comment further at this stage.

The Observer also contacted the Mpumalanga Department of Education, which indicated that it was not yet aware of the incident and would provide a comment after conducting its own investigations.
