It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Niels Erichsen on Sunday, February 15, at approximately 17:45.

His wife, Kathy, shared that Niels underwent a heart valve replacement in August 2025. The procedure was successful and he recovered well, remaining positive and hopeful as he continued with the life and farm he loved so much.

At the end of January 2026, he began feeling unwell again. After medical evaluation, doctors confirmed that he needed a stent to open a main artery. He was admitted to Wilgers Hospital, where he was treated with great care and compassion by dedicated doctors and medical staff.

Niels was discharged on Wednesday, 11 February, and returned home. On Friday he had to be readmitted due to an infection. Despite the tireless efforts of the medical team, his condition worsened.

On Sunday evening, his heart stopped and he passed away peacefully.

Niels will be remembered as a devoted man who cherished his family, his farm and the values he held dear.

Funeral arrangements are still being finalised and will be shared once confirmed.
