Mother of three found dead on the side of the road

The tragic death of Martha Tiki Maredi has left her three young children and loved ones reeling in grief.

The body of Martha Tiki Maredi (26) was discovered on the side of the road near Belfast (eMakhazeni)on Monday morning.

According to Senior Communications Officer Colonel Mavela Masondo, the circumstances surrounding her death are still under investigation, as no visible injuries were found.

Martha’s sister, Eunice Dladla, said that it was not unusual for Martha to go out, which is why there was no immediate alarm when she didn’t return home.
However, concerns grew when Martha’s family realised she had left her phone at home and still hadn’t returned the next day.

The devastating news came on Monday when a cousin informed the family that a body had been discovered. With hope fading, they rushed to the HA Grove Hospital in Belfast and confirmed the worst. After identifying Martha’s body, the family went to the police station and opened a criminal case.

Eunice described her sister as a vibrant and loving soul, devoted to her children and family, whose warmth and kindness touched everyone around her.

Martha leaves behind two young sons, aged eight and two, and a daughter, aged six, who will now grow up without their beloved mother.

She also leaves behind her sister, several cousins, and many loved ones.

Martha’s family is currently carrying the heavy burden of grief, as well as unexpected financial challenges. As they prepare to lay Martha to rest this Saturday, they hope to give her a dignified and respectful farewell. If anyone can help regarding funeral costs, please call Eunice on 071 527 8918.
