Skimming’s double murder suspects appear in court

The two suspects, believed to be a couple, face murder, kidnapping and fraud charges in Middelburg.

Two accused suspects, linked to the murders of a Skimming Village brother and sister, will appear in the Mpumalanga Division of the High Court sitting in Middelburg this week.

Flatty Betty Skhosana (43) and her alleged boyfriend, Seun Ntshangase (39), are facing six charges: two counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping, fraud, and defeating the ends of justice.

The matter will be heard by Judge Langa. The charges relate to the deaths of Josiah Andruppe Masanabo (62) and his sister, Nobanyazile Rosina Masanabo Skhosana (69), from Skimming village in Mpumalanga.

According to the police, Josiah Masanabo was kidnapped in February 2025 from Skimming Village. His remains were later discovered buried in a shallow grave near KwaMhlanga in April last year.

Masanabo Skhosana, Flatty’s mother, was allegedly murdered at home in the same village after searching for her missing brother, Flatty’s uncle.

The pair also face a fraud-related charge linked to the alleged use of Masanabo’s SASSA card following his disappearance and death.

The matter was initially expected to go to trial in 2027, but was later moved to May 2026.

Police investigations are continuing.
