Rustique breaks hospitality rules

Middelburg's favorite estate has expanded somewhat, with the official opening of Rustique Boutique Hotel and Restaurant, established by incumbent owner, Mr Philip Heyns.

Rustique Hotel and Restaurant celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, with distinguished guests being pampered with fine cuisine, wine and live entertainment.

If Saturday’s spectacular launch is anything to go by, the restaurant is set, like Riverside Estate on which it is situated, to become a coveted landmark in town.

The rural setting adds to Rustique’s uniqueness. Both hotel and restaurant are child friendly and phase two of the development will include an exclusive kiddies restaurant and play-park. A chapel, and beauty spa, is also on the cards.

With open air patios, a lounge, two bars and coffeehouse, Rustique offers everything for the distinguished palate. Choose from an A la Carte menu, or book your own private luncheon according to personal specifications, every whim is catered for at Rustique.

The restaurant was built on three tiers, with the restaurant offering a unique Verandah Diner, overlooking the dam and man made waterfall.

For a more intimate soiree, guests can book the first floor balcony, with multi media presentation capability, private bar, and a lounge with dance space.

Cocktails and sundowners are casually enjoyed in Rustique’s sophisticated Siga Ba, which generously overflows onto a covered patio.

The open plan design however ensures that everything comes together in spectacular fashion.

The eco-friendly hotel has been designed to blend into the rural landscape, giving an air of freedom and tranquility.

Built on the walls of a dam, the 19 luxurious rooms offer an endless view of the Highveld’s grassland majesty.

Facilities boast nineteen four star, luxury air conditioned rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. The rooms are tastefully decorated with the finest linens on king size beds, and as a further perk, all the rooms can be converted into family rooms with interleading doors.

Holistically, both Riverside and Rustique now provide a one-stop conference and wedding venue, which can operate independently from one another, allowing for more leeway with planning.

With a full team of specialists on hand, decisions about menus, decor and entertainment are made effortless, to ensure a calm and enjoyable event.

Open from 08:00 till late, Rustique’s hospitality team is ready too welcome you.
