Rabie Ridge Sports Complex has reopened

MIDRAND – Local councillors have officially opened the Rabie Ridge Sports Complex.

Rabie Ridge Sports Complex was reopened on 17 June after it was closed in 2016 due to a lack of funds to complete the stadium.

Ward 80 councillor Makgoba Pagadi said this was still the first phase of the project. More sports grounds, facilities and equipment were on the cards to cater to the needs of the community and their various sports.

“A bigger opening will take place on 30 June and members of the provincial leadership will be coming to Rabie Ridge,” she said.

“This stadium has been opened for the community and mostly for the children to have a safe place to develop their skills.”

Ward 110 councillor Steven Lamola said, “We urge everyone to not vandalise these facilities and to also ensure that the sports complex is well maintained and utilised properly.”
