Over the past few weeks, Midrand Montessori High School has been bustling with activity and excitement, thanks to the impressive achievements of its learners.

One of the most noteworthy occasions during this time was the school’s highly anticipated Inter-high Athletics Sports Day, which took place on March 15.

The event was nothing short of extraordinary, with several long-standing records being broken by Midrand Montessori’s talented athletes.

Among these record-breakers were Amukelani Mokgope, Njume Kraai, and Oreneile Machete, who all put on exceptional performances that left the crowd in awe.

Amukelani, who had previously set a high jump record in the U15 boys category, managed to surpass his record and set a new school record in the process.

Meanwhile, Njume displayed unwavering dedication and effort throughout the season, ultimately triumphing on the big day and setting a new school record in the U15 boys’ shot put category — a record that was previously held by Amukelani himself.

In the U15 girls’ shot put category, Oreneile Machete showed remarkable strength and determination, ultimately emerging victorious and setting a new school record that was previously held by Lyra de Jong.

The school’s principal, Sin Jackson-Morkel, was quick to extend her heartfelt congratulations to the learners for their exceptional accomplishments.

She expressed immense pride in the learners and their achievements and praised them for making the Annual Inter-High Athletics Sports Day such a resounding success.
