Chetty is a member of the Johannesburg Gymnastics Club and has already competed in two competitions for this season alone. On 3 August she competed for her junior colours in the third Central Gauteng Gymnastics Association Championship.
In order to achieve junior colours gymnasts have to achieve an overall score of 34.0. Chetty achieved a score of 35.85 at the regional championships.
This meant that Chetty not only received her junior colours but also five medals in total for the competition.
The gymnastics prodigy will go on to compete in the zone championships which includes Central Gauteng, Eastern Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and the Vaal, on 31 August.
