Kiss a car for a good cause
AN INITIATIVE by a group of young professionals who sell new and pre-owned cars at Kia Motors, is raising money for Smile Foundation.

The group’s initiative called, KissaKia, hopes to raise R250 000. New car sales manager at Kia Motors Hatfield, Gareth Williams said they are hosting a KissaKia marathon at Vodaworld in Midrand.
“People will be competing to see how long someone can kiss a Kia for a grand prize of R25 000. We are appealing to companies, the public and celebrities to get involved in our initiative,” Williams said.
He added that the KissaKia team is proud to align itself with Kia Motors and the Smile Foundation. They are looking at making a sizable contribution to Smile Foundation and making a difference in people’s lives.
Proceeds will go to Smile Foundation, a South African non-profit organisation that assists children with facial abnormalities to receive free corrective plastic and reconstructive surgery.
According to Hedley Lewis, executive director of finance and fundraising at Smile Foundation, the organisation has assisted over 1 200 children over the past 13 years.
“Kia Motors has come up with a great and fun initiative. We are humbled by the support and would like to invite members of the public to support the initiative that seeks to make a child smile,” Lewis said.
Participants in the KissaKia competition over the age of 18 can enter as many times as they want.
Vodaworld, Nokia South Africa and Kia Motors South Africa are sponsoring many giveaways during the event. The initiative started on 25 October and will run through to 24 November. The events take place on
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at Vodaworld.
On 24 November, the band Mi Casa will be on site to KissaKia at 9am.
