
The PortaLab is suited to all schools and is a versatile learning tool that can be easily folded way and expands children’s imaginations in science learning.
The OMO Schools’ Challenge is now in its seventh year. The challenge helps pupils to unleash their full potential through spending time outdoors and getting much-needed physical activity.
Schools around South Africa put their weight behind this year’s consumer campaign which rewarded pupils with sports equipment and science laboratories. The competition resulted in 75 South African schools receiving brand new sports kits in 2013, plus one science PortaLab per school.
OMO extended the campaign this year to include science PortaLabs in an effort to make science in the classroom more accessible and fun.
To celebrate OMO’s 50th birthday, and its ongoing commitment to communities and children around South Africa, OMO decided to include special science prizes for 75 schools.
Caroline Clayton, spokesperson for OMO, said, “OMO has been actively involved in the OMO Schools’ Challenge for the past seven years, the results of which have impacted children all over South Africa. We believe our efforts have definitely contributed to improving children’s performance at school, and consequently provided them with opportunities to achieve their full potential.”
