Creative fingers first

MIDRAND - A former Midrand High School teacher is running a competition for school pupils.

The founder of a maths and science academy, mathsgenius, Edzai Zvobwo wrote a book, GirlChild Rise Up, that encourages schoolgirls to excel in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

“Mathsgenius would like to invite entries from learners in Midrand to enter a competition where they can design and submit a cover [for the book]. Two of the best covers will be chosen and the winners will each receive R700 and the winner’s biographies will be included in the final copy of the book.”

Zvobwo added that the aim of the competition was to “unleash pupils creativity and give them a chance to dialogue and think about gender equality”.

Deadline for cover submissions is 14 February. Winners will be announced on 21 February.

Submissions to be made at info@mathsgenius.co.za
