Academy develops IT skills

MIDRAND - CHANGE the World IT Training Academy is a young non-profit organisation that focuses on empowering the youth and the underprivileged from its base at Midrand City Hall.

Steven Hansen of Change the World Trust said the main focus of the academy was to give quality information technology training to the youth as a stepping stone into the future.

Hansen said, “Courses are priced at low and very affordable prices. There are two main courses that are offered by Change the World: an A+ Cisco PC technician course which covers the fundamentals of IT, and a PC Basics and MS Office [course], which covers an introduction to computers and the MS Office Suite.”

According to Hansen, Change the World also does workshops on topics such as the Internet, email, basic web designing and coding.

Hansen said scholarships were available for people aged 16 to 25.

“Being that Change the World is a non-profit organisation and a public benefit organisation, we are continually on the lookout for companies and businesses that we can partner with, on sponsorship and donation basics. If your company is on the lookout for an above-board and dynamic foundation to help you in achieving your Black Economic Empowerment and social responsibilities, please contact us as we’re passionate about changing South Africa for the better through education in the IT sector,” said Hansen.

The academy is open from Monday to Saturday from 8.30am until 4.00pm.
