Photograph those pestering potholes

MIDRAND - Loren Hollingworth enjoyed her pleasant drive to work after Johannesburg Roads Agency repaired the potholes on Allandale Road.

For a few weeks, Hollingworth said her drive to and from work took longer due to motorists having to drive slowly to avoid potholes on the busy road.

She believed the heavy rains made the potholes bigger and attempts had been made to fill the potholes with sand, but the rain had washed the sand away.

She took a photograph of the traffic buildup and sent it to the roads agency’s hotline. It must have worked because Hollingworth said the roads agency not onkly repaired the potholes on Allandale Road but alsom on Pretorius Street.

Midrand motorists know their roads well and Midrand Reporter is calling on them to contribute to our #fixthispothole campaign. Let our community paper help the community by making the roads agency aware of residents’ pothole woes. This will hopefully lead to the potholes being repaired faster.

To do this, take a photograph of the potholes that annoy you in Midrand and send it to Midrand Reporter along with a description of where it is, how long it has been there for and the reference number from Joburg Connect.

Residents can email it, upload it onto the Midrand Reporter Facebook page or tweet it to @MidrandReporter #fixthispothole.
