Slow drive at Sanral
MIDRAND - South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) said the striking workers involved in a slow drive near its premises in Midrand were not Sanral employees.
This comes after motorists on the N1 took to social media stating that Sanral employees may be on strike. A BBM user on Midrand Reporter wrote, “I passed there from Pretoria and normal flow of traffic has since returned to the N1, earlier striking workers drove slowly and in some cases blocking the freeway. Traffic was at a standstill.”
Sanral spokesperson Vusi Mona said, “We have been informed that one of our service providers has a labour dispute with their employer. The employees have submitted their memorandum to our northern region office. Sanral will forward the memorandum to their employer.”
Mona added, “The agency will try its best to ensure that services to road users are not affected.”
