Call for public comment on new development

MIDRAND - Councillor Annette Deppe said members of the public could comment on a draft report for a proposed new development.

She said, “We’re inviting public comment on the final basis assessment report for the proposed development of the Carlswald filling station in Midrand. WSP environmental Limited was appointed by Shell Marketing South Africa as the independent environmental assessment practitioner to facilitate the stakeholder engagement process and undertake a basic assessment for a proposed new filling station in Carlswald.”

She added that a full and comprehensive stakeholder engagement process was performed in terms of Government Notice Regulation 543. “It comprised of distribution of background information documents to surrounding residents and registered stakeholders, placement of an advertisement in the Midrand Reporter, erection of site notices and a basic assessment report review,” Deppe said.

Deppe added that the draft report would be made available for review from 14 May to 13 June at:

  •  Platland number 40 Whisken Avenue, Crowthorne
  •  Midrand public library

To comment on the final basic assessment report the public should email their comments and concerns to the consultants.
