From 10111 to road running
MIDRAND - GAUTENG 10111 Emergency Call Centre employee Hlulani 'Winners' Shibambo runs to keep his mind sharp.
Shibambo, whose work covers the Midrand area, works long 12-hour shifts and to cope he has taken up exercise. Shibambo who has 16 marathons under his belt said, “Running marathons keeps me strong and healthy, not forgetting that I look smart.”
He said his work demanded a lot of concentration and running helped him to do this. He added that he was motivated by his five-year-old son who always wants to see his medal when he comes back from a race.
He is preparing to join the South African Police Service provincial running team and plans to run the 67km Relay for Mandela in Waterfall Estate in July.
He hopes more of his colleagues will join him to run as a team and put Gauteng 10111 on the running map.
