Help hungry and cold animals this winter
MIDRAND - Food and blankets are required by Midrand SPCA and the organisation is calling on community members to help.
Any dog or cat food is welcomed by the organisation, and with winter setting in, it is also in need of warm winter blankets.
The SPCA also sells books to raise funds on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10am to 12pm at its premises at 6 Dale Road, Glen Austin.
Community members who wish to donate books are welcome.
The public can also have a fun time with their own dogs while raising funds for the organisation at the the Outdoor Expo paw parade.
The expo will take place at Waterfall Estate on 1 June from 9.30am, and will raise funds for the Midrand SPCA and the Guide Dog Association of South Africa. The public are encouraged to bring their dogs along to parade at the show grounds, and afterwards take part in a competition which has categories ranging from best performer, most ‘poochalicious’ dog and the Outdoor Expo dog.
Community members are urged to register early and can receive entry forms by e-mailing the manager of Midrand SPCA, Elsje Naicker.
