Good will for babies home
MIDRAND - A gesture of Midrand community members lending a helping hand to each other was demonstrated at Botshabelo Babies Home in Crowthorne.

Midrand Learner Transport Association’s public relations officer, Brian Govender handed over nappies to the home on behalf of the association. The association regulates and helps to manage transport of pupils to and from school in the Midrand, Kyalami and Rabie Ridge area.
Govender handed the nappies to Michelle Hinrichsen and Jenni Bremner of the home who were grateful for the support and said every donation, big or small, helped them.
Hinrichsen said the home was in need of size 1 nappies, Nan1 formula, Lactogen 1 formula and a generator. She added that every day the home used about 72 nappies and up to 4.7 litres of formula.
The babies home, which has been running since 2000, provides a loving, caring and homely environment to about 12 o 15 children at any one time. Over the years, more than 140 children have been cared for at the home before they have been adopted. Their aim is to get every child adopted or fostered.
The home is situated at 64 on Main, off the R55 in Crowthorne and is situated on the same premises as Urban Life Church and Urban Kids Educentre.
They are looking for a social worker, who has a bachelor or honours degree in social work, current registration with SACSSP and good knowledge of the Children’s Act. Candidates should have three years experience in child welfare or in a children’s home environment.
“A passion for children and to see them reach their full potential is also required,” Bremner said.
The home also welcomes volunteers.
