Magical morning for good deeds
MIDRAND - A mad hatters tea party was held in Randjesfontein to raise money to beautify the Randjesfontein Estate and the Louis Botha Children’s Home.
About 60 women gathered under the trees and feasted on dainty delights and tasty treats. Bronwen Kramer of the estate said, “Their garb was truly a sight to behold with an award for the best hat going to Anne-Marie Steyn.”
She said guest speakers shared their secrets to success, motivating and inspiring the avid listeners. “Generous prizes were auctioned creating a festive and endearing atmosphere, whilst the ladies dug deep to support the worthy causes,” she said. The prizes included three paintings, a hand-crafted piece of jewellery, a mad hatter’s cake and a box of sought after wine.
“Thereafter, they lingered beneath the willows at stalls offering eats, jewellery, shoes and the like. They left with a goodie bag bursting with secret treasures, senses satisfied and soothed,” said Kramer.
She said it was a successful and fun-filled event and extended thanks to all who helped to make it a “wonderfully magical morning”.
She hoped to see the guests return for the event again in May next year.
